April 2024 Year-on-Year (y-on-y) inflation is 3.00 percent. The highest provincial inflation occurred in Gorontalo Province at 4.65 percent.

Abstract

The year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation rate in April 2024 was 3.00 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.40. The highest inflation by province was seen in Gorontalo Province at 4.65 percent with a CPI of 106.70, while the lowest was seen in Papua Province at 1.78 percent with a CPI of 104.12. The highest inflation by regency/city was seen in Minahasa Selatan Regency at 7.56 percent with a CPI of 108.41, while the lowest was seen in Belitung Timur Regency at 0.78 percent with a CPI of 104.11.
Inflation occurred as the prices went up, as indicated by the increase in most expenditure groups indices, namely: Food, Beverages, and Tobacco Group of 7.04 percent; Clothing and Footwear Group of 0.67 percent; Housing, Water, Electricity, and Household Fuel Group of 0.50 percent; Furnishings, Household Equipment, and Routine Household Maintenance Group of 0.99 percent; Health Group of 2.08 percent; Transport Group of 1.33 percent; Recreation, Sport, and Culture Group of 1.58 percent; Education Group of 1.72 percent; Food and Beverage Serving Services/Restaurant Group of 2.47 percent; and Personal Care and Other Services Group of 4.31 percent. Meanwhile, Information, Communication, and Financial Services Group recorded a deflation of 0.13 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate in April 2024 was 0.25 percent, and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation in April 2024 was 1.19 percent.
For the Core Component, the y-on-y inflation rate in April 2024 was 1.82 percent, the m-to-m inflation rate was 0.29 percent, and the y-to-d inflation rate was 0.86 percent.
