The year-on-year (y-on-y) headline inflation in June 2024 was 2.51 percent. The highest inflation by province was in Papua Pegunungan Province at 5.65 percent and by regency/municipality was in Minahasa Utara Regency at 7.86 percent.

Abstract

The year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation rate in June 2024 was 2.51 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.28. The highest inflation by province was in Papua Pegunungan Province at 5.65 percent with a CPI of 111.29. The lowest was in Kepulauan Bangka Belitung Province at 1.08 percent, with a CPI of 103.95. The highest inflation by regency/city was seen in Minahasa Utara Regency at 7.86 percent with a CPI of 110.53, while the lowest was seen in Timor Tengah Selatan Regency at 0.02 percent with a CPI of 104.64.

Inflation occurred as the prices went up, as indicated by the increase in most expenditure groups indices, namely: Food, Beverages, and Tobacco Group of 4.95 percent; Clothing and Footwear Group of 1.09 percent; Housing, Water, Electricity, and Household Fuel Group of 0.47 percent; Furnishings, Household Equipment, and Routine Household Maintenance Group of 0.95 percent; Health Group of 1.89 percent; Transport Group of 1.61 percent; Recreation, Sport, and Culture Group of 1.50 percent; Education Group of 1.69 percent; Food and Beverage Serving Services/Restaurant Group of 2.31 percent; and Personal Care and Other Services Group of 5.24 percent. Meanwhile, Information, Communication, and Financial Services Group recorded a deflation of 0.18 percent.

The month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation rate in June 2024 was 0.08 percent, and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation in June 2024 was 1.07 percent.

For the Core Component, the y-on-y inflation rate in June 2024 was 1.90 percent, the m-to-m inflation rate was 0.10 percent, and the y-to-d inflation rate was 1.14 percent.
