Farmers’ Terms of Trade (FTT) April 2024 was 116.79 or fell 2.18 percent

Abstract

FTT is the ratio of the index of prices received by farmers (It) and the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib).
FTT is an indicator to measure the farmers’ purchasing power parity in rural areas. FTT shows the terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumption and production costs.
In April 2024, national FTT was 116.79 or decreased by 2.18 percent compared with that in March 2024. The decrease in FTT was due to the decrease in the index of prices received by farmers (It) at 1.74 percent, while the increase in the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib) at 0.45 percent.
In April 2024, Banten Province had the highest decrease in FTT at 6.31 percent. On the other hand, Sulawesi Barat Province experienced the highest increase in FTT at 6.81 percent.
The price index of household consumption (IKRT) in April 2024 increased by 0.58 percent in Indonesia, which was due to the increase in most indexes of expenditure groups.
Nationally, Agriculture’s Terms of Trade (NTUP) was 120.25 in April 2024 or decreased by 1.88 percent compared with March 2024.
