The number of railway passengers departing in March 2024 increased by 2.71 percent compared to February 2024

Abstract

The number of domestic air transport passengers departing in March 2024 was 4.5 million, a decrease of 3.51 percent compared to February 2024. International air transport passengers decreased by 4.97 percent to 1.3 million. Meanwhile, the freight transported by domestic air transport increased by 11.24 percent to 57.4 thousand tons. From January to March 2024, the number of domestic air transport passengers was 14.1 million, decreasing by 0.95 percent. The number of international air transport passengers was 4.2 million, which increased by 27.75 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Moreover, freight increased by 10.01 percent to 162.6 thousand tons.
The number of domestic sea transport passengers departing in March 2024 was recorded at 1.5 million, increasing by 1.26 percent compared to February 2024. The freight transported by domestic sea transport increased by 6.31 percent, turning 29.9 million tons. From January to March 2024, the number of domestic sea transport passengers reached 4.7 million and increased by 8.85 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Meanwhile, freight increased by 0.15 percent, reaching 86.5 million tons.
The number of railway passengers departing in March 2024 was 32.8 million people, which increased by 2.71 percent compared to February 2024. Furthermore, freight transported by train increased by 7.87 percent to 5.7 million tons. The number of passengers reached 98.8 million from January to March 2024 and increased by 14.78 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Moreover, the cumulative freight transported by train rose 3.25 percent to 16.7 million tons.
