Abstract

The number of domestic air transport passengers departing in May 2024 was 5.3 million, a decrease of 9.36 percent compared to April 2024. Meanwhile, international air transport passengers increased by 7.12 percent to 1.6 million. The freight transported by domestic air transport increased by 6.07 percent to 50.7 thousand tons. From January to May 2024, the number of domestic air transport passengers was 25.2 million, increasing by 1.11 percent. The number of international air transport passengers was 7.4 million, which increased by 29.17 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Moreover, freight increased by 9.71 percent to 261.1 thousand tons.
The number of domestic sea transport passengers departing in May 2024 was recorded at 1.7 million, decreasing by 17.82 percent compared to April 2024. The freight transported by domestic sea transport increased by 9.79 percent, turning 30.4 million tons. From January to May 2024, the number of domestic sea transport passengers reached 8.5 million and increased by 7.88 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Meanwhile, freight increased by 1.29 percent, reaching 144.6 million tons.
The number of railway passengers departing in May 2024 was 35.2 million people, which increased by 0.89 percent compared to April 2024. Furthermore, freight transported by train increased by 9.81 percent to 6.4 million tons. The number of passengers reached 168.8 million from January to May 2024 and increased by 15.80 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Moreover, the cumulative freight transported by train rose 8.55 percent to 28.9 million tons.
