Abstract

The number of domestic air transport passengers departing in August 2024 was 5.6 million, a decrease of 7.67 percent compared to July 2024. Meanwhile, international air transport passengers increased by 12.46 percent to 1.8 million. The freight transported by domestic air transport increased by 3.01 percent to 54.7 thousand tons. From January to August 2024, the number of domestic air transport passengers was 42.0 million, increasing by 1.50 percent.

The number of international air transport passengers was 12.3 million, which increased by 23.94 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Moreover, freight increased by 6.27 percent to 420.5 thousand tons. The number of domestic sea transport passengers departing in August 2024 was 2.2 million, decreasing by 16.19 percent compared to July 2024. The freight transported by domestic sea transport increased by 4.85 percent, turning 32.7 million tons. From January to August 2024, the number of domestic sea transport passengers reached 17.3 million and increased by 26.02 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Meanwhile, freight decreased by 0.14 percent, reaching 243.5 million tons.

The number of railway passengers departing in August 2024 was 35.8 million people, which decreased by 5.45 percent compared to July 2024. On the other hand, freight transported by train increased by 2.12 percent to 6.6 million tons. The number of passengers reached 277.5 million from January to August 2024 and increased by 14.87 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Moreover, the cumulative freight transported by train rose 8.99 percent to 48.2 million tons.
